The Gallop Stallion Services Auction is indebted to the owners of Curran Farm and manager Marian Hunter for their donation of a breeding to a living legend in our horse industry, "Smart Chic Olena." Earner of $167,471 in cutting, reining and cowhorse events, he has earned 65 AQHA points and holds multiple prestigious titles. Those include: 1990 AQHA World Champion Senior Cutting Horse; 1993 AQHA World Champion Senior Reining Horse; 1993 NRHA Open Reserve World Champion; split 3rd, 1989 NCHA Open Super Stakes & 1991 NCHA Open Challenge; 4th, 1990 NCHA Super Stakes Open Classic; 1990 AQHA High Point Cutting Champion; and an AQHA Superior in Cutting. Smart Chic Olena is an NRHA Two Million Dollar Sire whose foals have earned a total of more than $4,977,282. The NRHA's #2 All-Time Leading Sire and the AQHA's #8 All-Time Leading Sire of ROM's. In 2001, Smart Chic Olena was the AQHA #1 Leading Performance Sire (Point-Earners, Points Earned and ROM's), #3 NRHA Leading Sire, #8 NRCHA Leading Sire and a Top 20 Leading Cutting Sire appearing on the Top Five Leading Reining Sires list and the AQHA Top Ten Leading Performance Sires list each year his foals have shown. He has sired earners of 10,472 AQHA points, (199) ROM awards, (45) Superior awards and (17) World/Reserve World Championships; also sire of (34) APHA registered foals to which (28) are Overo or Tobiano. His foals include the 2001 AQHA World Champion Junior Reining Horse, 2001 National Reining Breeders Classic Open Champion, 2001 APHA World Champion Senior Working Cowhorse and Steer Stopping Horse, as well as the 2002 German Americana Open Reining Champion, and (3) AQHA Reserve World Champions. Smart Chic Olena is an NRHA Open and Non-Pro Futurity Champion Sire, NRCHA Futurity Champion Sire, NRHA World Champion Sire, AQHA World Champion Reining and Working Cowhorse Sire, AQHA High Point Champion Sire in both Reining and Cutting; NCHA Amateur Derby Champion Sire, NRHA Youth World Champion Sire, APHA World Champion Reining & Cowhorse Sire, European Champion Sire; and broodmare sire of an NRCHA Non-Pro Futurity Champion and an AQHA World Champion. Mare care contract will be between Babcock Ranch and successful buyer of service. Breed of mare is to be a registered Paint, Appaloosa, Thoroughbred, or Quarter Horse.
