Known affectionately as "Jake," he has already proven his worth and is now in high demand for breeding.

Straight Up Dirty is a 2020 black AQHA stallion standing at 15.3 hands. He was bred by Beth Mallett and is co-owned by Jen Smith and Seth Dawson. Sired by the accomplished stallion The Best Martini and out of Another Certain Vino, a full sister to the legendary show horse A Certain Vino, Jake boasts an exceptional pedigree alongside natural movement that sets him apart from the competition. His journey from foal to show ring star is a testament to Beth Mallett’s eye for talent and her ability to nurture promising prospects. She purchased Jake when he was just five weeks old, recognizing his looks, movement, and good temperament. As co-owner, Smith noted, “He had to work and do his job while remaining a good citizen. It was decided to stand him once he earned his keep.” Professionals who followed Jake's progress recognized early on that he had the qualities needed to be a successful stallion.

Owners, Jen Smith and Seth Dawson, planned to compete with him during his three- and four-year-old years before retiring him to stud, a goal that Straight Up Dirty successfully achieved by making a mark in both show seasons. Jake is 6-panel negative and has the genotype W35/n E/e a/a. In his brief show career, he has earned several accolades, including: Bronze NSBA World Champion, 25K Maturity WP 2024, Bronze Congress Champion for Limited Three-Year-Old Western Pleasure in 2023, The Madness CC, Junior WP 2024, Mid-Summer Madness CC, Junior WP 2024, 10K DAC Futurity Champion WP 2023, Reserve Congress Champion in Performance Halter Stallions, Reserve Champion in L2 Junior Western Pleasure, and participation in the 2024 AQHA World Championship Show.

Jake also has impressive mare power in his bloodlines, thanks to Another Certain Vino being his dam. While many immediately think of her as a full sibling to A Certain Vino, Potential Diva, and Certainly A Vision, she stands out on her own as a robust mare with incredible qualities. His owners highlight that she possesses the "wow factor," showcases athleticism with soft, slow legs, and has remarkable hang time. They believe Jake meets many criteria for different mares. He is incredibly beautiful, has soft and slow legs, and a great disposition. Moreover, his pedigree makes him an outcross for western pleasure horses.
