DeGraff Stables is excited to welcome Trashy Affair, a 2019 chestnut stallion by the legendary Gunnatrashya and out of Memorable Walla Whiz, to their stallion roster. For Robin DeGraff, this marks a new chapter as he becomes their first Western Performance sire to stand at stud.
Trashy Affair is a talented athlete and an NRHA money earner with over $42,000 in earnings. He has already established an impressive record, which includes being the AQHA World Champion in Junior Reining Level 2 and finishing in the Top 5 in Open Level 3. He was also a finalist at the NRHA Derby Level 2 Open and claimed the title of Lazy E Red Dirt Reining Level 2 Open Derby Champion, along with a Top 5 finish in Level 4. At the 100X Reining Classic Stakes, Trashy Affair and Matt Flarida were named Open Reserve Champions and finished in the Top 10 in Level 3.
His sire, Gunnatrashya, is an NRHA Hall of Fame inductee, an Open NRHA Futurity Champion, and a Congress Open Futurity Champion, with lifetime earnings exceeding $233,000. He has produced more than $17.8 million in winnings. While most of his offspring have thrived in reining, many have also excelled in various other disciplines, including over $589,000 in working cowhorse, more than $655,000 in roping, and over $350,000 in ranch horse events. Additionally, there are money-earners among his progeny in cutting, barrels, and even halter classes.
Trashy Affair's dam side boasts a strong record of success as well. His mother, sired by the $5.5 Million Sire Walla Walla Whiz, has earned over $18,000 herself and has produced nearly $80,000 in winnings from her foals of show age. Her dam, Memorable Affair, has won $118,000 and earned over $300,000 throughout her career, and she is still competing. Daughters of Walla Walla Whiz have collectively earned over $4.3 million, and the "magic cross" of the "Gunner" bloodlines has proven to be highly successful. Notably, the first horse in NRHA history to win over a million dollars, Down Right Amazing, is sired by Colonels Smoking Gun ("Gunner") and is out of a daughter of Walla Walla Whiz. Five others among the top ten money-earners with Walla Walla Whiz dams were sired by either Gunnatrashya or one of his sons.
With his impressive pedigree, outstanding performance, and striking presence, Trashy Affair is poised to uphold the tradition of excellence and help shape the next generation of versatile, competitive reining and western performance horses. He stands at 15.1 hands high, is 6-Panel N/N, and has tested negative for EVA and CEM. He is also annually vaccinated.
